As an Atlanta, GA resident for 5(ish) years, it wasn’t until a colleague referred to me as a “Bama/lantan,” that we realized the prevalence of the AL/GA hybrid identity. The Bama/Lantan brand was born out of an exercise in exploring personal identity as it relates to original homes vs chosen homes.
